The Tony Menendez Computer Scholarship At Florida International University, USA

Description
The scholarship awards a laptop computer with all the pertinent programs along with IT support from the College’s computer lab staff when needed. Scholarship recipients will keep the assigned laptop during their tenure provided the recipients remain full‑time Honors College students in good standing, make satisfactory progress towards a bachelor’s degree, and maintain a 3.3 cumulative GPA at FIU.

Eligibility

  • Freshman undergraduate student enrolled in the Honors College;
  • Minimum high school GPA of 3.5 or greater;
  • Minimum FIU GPA of 3.3 or greater;
  • Financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
  • Scholarship recipients will be reviewed annually for renewal, and must remain full-time Honors College students in good standing, make satisfactory progress towards a bachelor’s degree, and maintain a minimum 3.3 GPA.

Application Procedure
  1. Write a two-page essay stating your academic and professional goals, including your intended field of study, and explain why you believe you should be selected as the recipient of the scholarship. Include a copy of your resume.
  2. Include a copy of your resume and a copy of your most recent transcripts.
  3. Download and complete a Financial Aid Form (FAFSA) if you have not already done so , and submit it electronically to the FIU Financial Aid office. An electronic submission allows your form to be processed rapidly.
