Description
The purpose of this program is to provide a financial award of $1,000.00 to one or more students who understand, appreciate and exemplify Bruce Lee’s passion for education as well as his qualities of honest expression, forward thought, self-exploration, and assertiveness. The scholarships are available to students age 16 and older who will be attending or are already attending a two-year college, four-year university, or licensed trade and vocational school in the United States.
Eligibility
Criteria used in evaluating applicants include, but is not limited to, involvement in extra-curricular activities/community service/work experience, future potential and knowledge of Bruce Lee.The scholarship is open to high school seniors and above.
Application Procedure
To be considered for a scholarship, please submit the following materials by Friday, June 15, 2012 to Bruce Lee Foundation, 11693 San Vicente Blvd, Ste. 918, Los Angeles, CA 90049:
- Completed Scholarship Application
- Completed answers to Parts 2 and 3 on separate pages attached to the application
- Two (2) letters of recommendation written within the last six months
ALL APPLICATION MATERIALS MUST COME TOGETHER!
All applications for the Bruce Lee Scholarship must be postmarked or received by the Bruce Lee Foundation by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, June 15, 2012. We unfortunately cannot accept faxed or incomplete applications.
Applicants reaching the final stages of selection may be required to do an interview by phone. Please make sure to include all phone numbers where you can be reached. Individuals who are selected to receive a scholarship will be notified by Friday, August 3, 2012.
