Doctoral research fellowship in Classics Provided By Department of Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas, i Oslo University, Norway

Description
A PhD Research Fellowship (post code 1017) in Greek (2012-2015) is available at the University of Oslo’s Department of Philosophy, Classics, History of Art and Ideas from November 1, 2012 (or as soon as possible after that date).

The candidate who is accepted must participate in the Faculty of Humanities’ researcher education program (cf. regulations and supplementary provisions for the faculty’s researcher education) and must also engage in the designated research activities on a 100 percent basis. The designated aim of the project is to complete a doctoral dissertation to be defended at a public disputation for the Ph.D.-degree.

Eligibility

  • A Master degree or equivalent in Greek or in  related fields such as classical philology, classical languages, linguistics, philosophy, theology.
  • If an applicant has a master degree in a field other than ancient Greek, classical philology or classical languages, she/he is asked to document her/his formal knowledge of Greek. Knowledge of Latin will be considered as an asset.
