(Scholarship Fellowship) MD/PhD Fellowship In Hematology, Medical Oncology, and Combined Hematology & Medical Oncology, USA

Description
The Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) has approved 18 Fellows per academic year. Positions for the upcoming Scholarship Fellowship Program will range between six and eight Fellows, depending upon how many positions are offered for single boarding in Hematology or Medical Oncology and double boarding in Hematology and Oncology. Candidates interested in double boarding must address, in their Personal Statement, why they are interested and how a double boarding program will benefit their academic career.

Eligibility
This scholarship grant is targeted to:
  • U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents or have a J1 Visa or H1B Visa.
  • who eligible or certified in Internal Medicine. Beyond that, candidate selection is based on evidence of outstanding clinical ability, a strong interest in a research career, and evidence of potential for independent research.
  • MD/PhD candidates.

Application Procedure
Interested applicants must provide the following documents:
  • Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, U.S. Permanent Residents or have a J1 Visa or H1B Visa.

  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Personal Statement, specifically addressing your academic goals and research interests as well as intent to single board in Hematology or Medical Oncology or double board in Hematology and Medical Oncology.
  • Two Letters of Recommendation: One letter should be from your current Program Director, Department Chair or Residency Training Program Director; at least two letters should address your clinical abilities and medical knowledge. For applicants with prior research experience, one letter should be from your research advisor/mentor. The letter should mention background and interest in academic Hematology and Medical Oncology as a career and view of competence to engage in scientific research.
  • Examination Requirements - U.S. Medical School Graduates - USMLE Parts I, II and, III or FLEX and be board certified in Internal Medicine;
  • International Medical Graduates - ECFMG Certificate, FMGEMS, and, if not a Citizen or Permanent Resident, a copy of a current Visa, documentation of successful completion of the language skills exam and be board certified in Internal Medicine.
