The Joseph P. and Helen T. Cribbins Scholarship is currently being offered by the Association of the United States Army to enlisted soldiers currently serving in the active Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard of any rank or honorably discharged enlisted Soldiers from any component of the total Army who have been accepted at an accredited college or university and are pursuing a degree in engineering or related field, such as computer science, bio-technology, etc. This program will award a $2,000 scholarship based on academic merit and personal achievement.

Eligibility

• Enlisted Soldiers currently serving in the active Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard of any rank
• Honorably discharged enlisted Soldiers from any component of the total Army
• Acceptance at an accredited college or university
• Pursuing a degree in engineering or related field, such as computer science, bio-technology, etc.

Application Procedure
The applicants must provide the following documents:

• 2012 Application form
• Two letters of recommendation from school, i.e. principal, counselor, teacher of your choice.
• One page Autobiography in own handwriting.
• A certified transcript of high school or college grades -- depending on which currently attending.
• Certificates of completion for any other courses or training.
• A letter of intent describing the degreed course of study and plans for completion of a degreed program.
• Copy of form DD-214 if applicant has been discharged from service.

The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship, USA

Description
The Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship provides $7,500 per year for educational expenses to sophomores and juniors majoring in math, science, and engineering. The purpose of the award is to encourage outstanding students to pursue careers and advanced degrees in these fields. The foundation awards up to 300 Goldwater Scholarships nationwide; UC Berkeley can nominate four students for the award.

Eligibility

• Full-time sophomore or junior (planning one or two more years of full-time undergraduate study)
• U.S. citizen, resident alien or U.S. national from American Samoa or the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands
• Upper quarter of class (usually a minimum 3.5 GPA)

Application Procedure
Interested candidates must provide the documents below:

• A completed on-line application
• A two page essay discussing a significant issue or problem in the chosen field of study
• Three letters of recommendation from a) two faculty members who can discuss the nominee's career potential (at least one of these must be in your field of study) and b) another individual who can attest to the nominee's potential. (If you have been involved in research, one of your letters must come from the individual who supervised your work)
• A high school transcript
• A current college transcript

Student Journalist Investigative Reporting Award Funded By Journalism Education Association (JEA)

Description

International Degree Scholarships At Ulm University

Ulm University offers foreign students degree scholarships.The scholarship is awarded once for one semester and amounts to 300 EUR per month.

The Ian Parry Scholarship, A photographic Scholarship

Description
The Ian Parry Scholarship 2012 is currently being offered to  young photographers who are either attending a full-time photographic course or are under 24. This scholarship is named in honor of Ian Parry, a “photojournalist who died while on assignment for The Sunday Times during the Romanian revolution in 1989?. If you are applying, you must submit examples of your work from your portfolio and a brief synopsis of a project you would undertake if you won. The top prize is £3,000 (about $4900 in USD) and £500 (about $820) for runners-up.

Bruce Lee Foundation Scholarship, USA

Description
The purpose of this program is to provide a financial award of $1,000.00 to one or more students who understand, appreciate and exemplify Bruce Lee’s passion for education as well as his qualities of honest expression, forward thought, self-exploration, and assertiveness. The scholarships are available to students age 16 and older who will be attending or are already attending a two-year college, four-year university, or licensed trade and vocational school in the United States.

Eligibility
Criteria used in evaluating applicants include, but is not limited to, involvement in extra-curricular activities/community service/work experience, future potential and knowledge of Bruce Lee.The scholarship is open to high school seniors and above.
