Fellowship Scholarship Special Offered For Government Officials Balkans' Countries'

Description
The Programme  aims  to contribute to the development of effective and efficient state administrations in the region by offering a tailor-made fellowship and training programme for highly qualified young professionals from the  highest ranking  state authorities of the countries of the Western Balkans.

The program will include as follow:
  • Fellows begin the programme by attending a 2 - 3 months LANGUAGE COURSE to prepare themselves for work and life in the host institution and
  • All 20 fellows are brought together for the first time at the 2 weeks INTRODUCTORY SEMINAR, held in Berlin and Potsdam, in  co-operation with the Potsdam Centre for Policy and Management (PCPM).
  • The  TRAINEESHIP PHASE  follows, with each fellow starting work at host EU member state institutions: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic,  France,  Germany, Hungary, Italy, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain. 
  • Mid way through the traineeship, Fellows are gathered in Brussels for a 4 day INTERMEDIARY SEMINAR and visit of EU and international institutions. 
  • The Programme is completed with a FINAL SEMINAR, held each year at a different location throughout the Western Balkans. Fellows attend a last set of trainings in leadership, conflict resolution, communication, negotiations and evaluation.

Scholarship Benefits:
During the Programme duration, fellows receive a monthly stipend of 1,500 euros from the European Fund for the Balkans  in addition to the  re-allocation fee. The costs for language training are also reimbursed up to the fixed sum of 1,500 euro. Travel, accommodation and any other essential maintenance costs relating to seminars and other compulsory events are also covered. The EFB supports the fellows with organisational issues.

Eligibility
Civil servants of ministries  and highest ranking state institutions  in the Western Balkan countries can apply (including entity and cantonal level government in Bosnia Herzegovina and regional level government of Vojvodina in Serbia).

The Lemmermann Foundation's Scholarship Award, Italy

Description
The Lemmermann Foundation offers foundation scholarship in the classical studies and humanities to master's and doctoral students. Topic of research must be related to Rome and the Roman culture of any period, from the Pre-Roman period to the present day time. Applicants must provide evidence for their need to study and carry out research in Rome.

The selected candidates will be awarded monthly scholarship amount is established in 750 euro.

Eligibility
  • be enrolled in a recognized University program;
  • have a basic knowledge of the Italian language.

  • A description of their area of study;
  • Two recommendation letters containing a brief account of the student's knowledge, interests and capabilities and a description of his/her research: one from the student's advisor/professor and a second one from the head of studies or a faculty member in the student's dissertation committee;

International PhD Scholarship Grant in Sociology at Graduate School in Social and Political Sciences, University of Milan, Italy

Description
The scholarship grant and their amount are specifically assigned every year: for specific information about the number of scholarships available and about their amount, please download the file related to the specific Call of the Year. Admission test to Ph.D. Programs is divided in two stages: in the first stage the Examining Committee evaluates the qualifications for compliance with the criteria established by the Ph.D. Faculty Committee; in the second stage the candidates are interviewed by the Ph.D. Faculty Committee, in order to ascertain their preparation, skills and aptitude for scientific research and personal motivation. The interview also aims at verifying the applicant’s knowledge of the educational and academic areas specified for the Ph.D. and includes the applicant’s formal presentation of the research project(s) he/she proposes to conduct. (*For those foreign students who are not able to reach Milan for the interview, special on-line interviews will be set, by request).

Eligibility
  • For Italian students a Laurea Quadriennale or Laurea Magistrale is required. These Italian titles are M.A. equivalents. B.A. equivalents will not constitute minimum requirements for admission.
  • Foreign students must hold an academic qualification that has been declared to be equivalent to an Italian Laurea Quadriennale or Laurea Magistrale (i.e. an M.A. equivalent; B.A. degrees do not constitute minimum requirements for admission). In case their degree has not yet been declared equivalent to an Italian Laurea Quadriennale or Laurea Magistrale, candidates may apply to the Faculty committee of the Ph.D. program of interest for a declaration of equivalent value. Applicants who expect to graduate within the date of the first meeting of the Examining Commitees (the meeting is finalized to the evaluation of qualifications) are eligible to apply for admission to the Graduate School. A good command of English is required.

International Scholarship For Master students at Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna, Italy

Description
Kindly be informed that the application process for the MAHRCM programme 2013 in now open. Please find in the box on the right-hand side menu the two Calls for applications for NON EU candidates and EU candidates. Candidates shall enter their application online using the links provided below. They are strongly advised to fill in all mandatory fields including the one concerning their motivational profile.

Eligibility
  1. The Master Programme offers no. 1 scholarship, covering the full tuition fee, to be automatically awarded to the EU citizen who makes the highest score in the list.
  2. Depending on financial availability, a limited number of scholarships will be made available to citizens of NON-OECD countries who are eligible for release of a visa for Italy.
  3. Eligible applicants shall fill in the appropriate section of the application form.

Olivia James Traveling Fellowship For US Citizen

Description
For travel and study to be conducted between July 1 of the award year and the following June 30. Preference will be given to projects of at least a half-year's duration. The award is to be used for travel and study in Greece (the modern state), Cyprus, the Aegean Islands, Sicily, southern Italy (that is, the Italian provinces of Campania, Molise, Apulia, Basilicata, and Calabria), Asia Minor (Turkey) or Mesopotamia (that is, the territory between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, that is modern Iraq and parts of northern Syria and eastern Turkey). Although the proposal may require travel outside these areas, the majority of travel proposed must be within them. The award is not intended to support field excavation projects.

Eligibility
Applicant must be a United States citizen. Preference will be given to individuals engaged in dissertation research or to those who received their Ph.D. within five years of the application deadline. Recipients may not hold other major fellowships during the requested tenure of the Olivia James award

CICOPS Scholarship Specially Offered for Student From Develeoping Country, Italy

Description
In 1996, the Technical-Scientific Committee of CICOPS approved a scholarship project aimed at fostering research collaboration between academics from developing countries and the University of Pavia. The scholarships were designed for both junior and senior members of universities in developing countries or members of major research centres and international organizations with specific interests in the field of development studies. Since 1998, the University of Pavia and the Institute for University Studies (EDiSU) have offered about ten scholarships yearly for a four to ten week stay in Pavia, during which time the scholars carry out joint research with professors in the department that hosts them and often hold seminars. As of 2011, about 150 scholarships had been awarded to academics from 40 different countries to carry out research in Pavia.

Eligibility
  1. The scholarships were designed for both junior and senior members of universities in developing countries or members of major research centres and international organizations with specific interests in the field of development studies.
  2. Applicants must have either two years of either teaching experience or activity in international organisations and institution.

PhD Position and Grant At Scuola Internationale Superiore di Studi Avanzati, Italia

Description
The School offers grants (currently € 1.135,00 net/month approximately), depending on the amount of funds available, to students who have made a specific request in the online application. The grant is awarded for three years, extendable for a fourth year subject to approval by the School authorities. Ugo Irneri Scholarship for non Italian citizens coming from South, Central and Eastern European Countries, Italy

Description
MIB School of Management of Trieste is pleased to announce a competition for one scholarship, named in honor of Mr. Ugo Irneri – the founder of Lloyd Adriatico, now part of Allianz Group, for the XIV edition of the Master in Insurance and Risk Management (January 2013 – December 2013). This scholarship will be awarded to a recent non-Italian graduate coming from South, Central and Eastern European Countries. The scholarship will cover the whole tuition fees and the board and lodging expenses (6.000,00 EUR).

Eligibility
  1. academic degree (or equivalent qualification) in economics or in a technical subject;
  2. good working knowledge of English (a TOEFL/IELTS/PTE certificate is recommended);
  3. preference is given to citizens of countries which have recently joined the European Community

  • Degree certificate and transcript
  • Two letters of recommendation
  • If available a certificate which demonstrates an adequate knowledge of English such as TOEFL/IELTS/PTE (alternatively, verification will be made directly by the School);
