For the past eighteen years, Wendy's Restaurants have teamed up with the Heisman Memorial Trophy Committee to create the Wendy's High School Heisman Award. The award honors both male and female high school students who excel in academics, athletics and student leadership.

Eligibility
Both man and woman student athletes who exhibit excellence in the classroom are encouraged to apply, on the playing field, and within their communities. Eligibility for application is limited exclusively to men and women whose senior year of high school is the 2012–2013 academic year, who have at least a “B” grade average, and participate in at least one of 27 sports. We want to hear from all student athletes who work hard, are dedicated, and have become role models for underclassmen.

Application Procedure
A student begins the application process by selecting Apply Now! An account must be created with name, address, and email information. It is here that students establish their own User ID and password, which will be required to log in, as often as needed prior to the deadline, to complete the application.

Once the account is created, the student can launch the online application. At the initial launch, the student must answer eligibility questions.

Postdoctoral Fellowship of Princeton Society of Fellows In Humanities, Social and Natural sciences, USA

Description
The Princeton Society of Fellows, an interdisciplinary group of scholars in the humanities, social sciences, and selected natural sciences, invites applications for the 2013-2016 Fellowship competition. Four three-year Postdoctoral Fellowships will be awarded this year. The stipend for the academic year 2013-14 will be approximately $78,000. In addition, fellows are provided with a shared office, a personal computer, a research account of $5000 a year, access to university grants, benefits and other resources.

• Humanities and Social Sciences: Open to all disciplines represented in the Society of Fellows.  In each of the first two years, the successful candidate pursues research half-time and teaches the equivalent of two courses, either team-taught or self-designed, in the host department or in an interdisciplinary Program.
• Humanistic Studies: This fellowship is sponsored jointly by the Humanities Council and Society of Fellows, and is open to candidates in all relevant disciplines represented in the Society of Fellows. The position offers an opportunity to collaborate with faculty across many departments. For the first two years the Fellow joins faculty from different disciplines in teaching the interdisciplinary year-long sequence, Approaches to Western Culture: From Antiquity to the Modern Period, and pursues research half-time.
• East Asian Studies (EAS): This fellowship is sponsored jointly by the Mellon Foundation and the Princeton Society of Fellows in the Liberal Arts, with East Asian Studies as both the host department and affiliated program. The successful candidate will pursue research, contribute to the Society’s activities, and collaborate to team-teach for two years in an interdisciplinary seminar course aimed at rethinking the intellectual and cultural history of early modern East Asia, 1500-1800.
• Race and/or Ethnicity (RE): This fellowship is sponsored jointly by the offices of the President and Dean of the Faculty of Princeton University, and the Princeton Society of Fellows in the Liberal Arts. The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to pursue research that explores the discursive forms and meanings of concepts of race and ethnicity in one or more selected disciplines in the humanities and social sciences. The selection committee particularly welcomes applications from candidates whose scholarship is driven by innovative, interdisciplinary, and historical ways of thinking, including interests in pre-modern and non-western cultures.

Eligibility

1. PhD degree requirements. Please note the Society's dates of degree eligibility. These are firm dates with no exceptions: a) Candidates already holding the PhD degree at time of application: You must have received your degree between January 1, 2011 and October 1, 2012. The receipt of the PhD is determined by the date on which you fulfilled all requirements for the degree at your institution, including the defense and filing of the dissertation. b) Candidates who are ABD (all but dissertation) at time of application: If you will not meet the October 1, 2012, deadline for receipt of PhD but are expected to have fulfilled all conditions for the degree, including defense and filing of dissertation, by June 15, 2013, you may still apply for a postdoctoral fellowship provided you have completed a substantial portion of the dissertation (approximately half). We ask that you include in your dossier a letter confirming your “progress to degree” from either your Department Chair or your Director of Graduate Studies (see details of letter below).
2. Please note that candidates awarded a fellowship will be asked to provide a document from either the Registrar or Dean of their Graduate School by June 15, 2013, to confirm completion of all requirements for the PhD.
3. Recipients of doctorates in Education (EdD or PhD degrees), doctorates of Jurisprudence, and holders of PhD degrees from Princeton University are not eligible to apply.
4. If you have already applied to the Princeton Society of Fellows, you may not apply a second time. We therefore recommend that candidates wait until they have completed a substantial portion of the dissertation (approximately half) before applying.
5. Fellowships will be awarded to candidates at the beginning of their academic career. Candidates must have already demonstrated outstanding scholarly achievement and excellence in teaching. Their work should also show evidence of unusual promise. The Society has a particular interest in fostering innovative interdisciplinary approaches in the humanities and social sciences.
6. US citizens and non-citizens, regardless of race, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability, are eligible to apply.
7. Fellows must reside in or near Princeton during the academic year of their fellowship term in order that they can attend weekly seminars and other events on campus.

Whitworth Senior Scholarship Awards, UK

Description
This new form of financial support will be known as a Whitworth Senior Scholarship Award. The award is targeted to Postgraduate Research leading to a PhD or EngD applicants. The succesful candidates will benefit     Up to £7,500 p.a. for a maximum period of three years. The Award may be held concurrently with other forms of financial support (except with any other Whitworth Award).

Omidyar Fellowship for Postdoctoral Program At Santa Fe Institute, USA

The Omidyar Fellowship at the Santa Fe Institute is unique among postdoctoral appointments. The Institute has no formal programs or departments. In 1997, a philanthropist named John Templeton published a book called Discovering the Laws of Life. In that book, he gathered together the advice offered by the major religious scriptures of the world, various schools of philosophical thought, storytellers, scientists, artists, and historians regarding one crucial question: “What does it mean to live a good life?” To this day, that text remains a wonderful source of inspiration to people around the world, and this year, which marks the centenary of John Templeton’s birth, the publishing company that bears his name is releasing a revised commemorative edition of that book entitled The Essential Worldwide Laws of Life.

Scholarship Fellowship: The Gabriel García Márquez fellowship in cultural journalism, Colombia

Description
This program is established by the New Journalism Foundation -FNPI -and the Ministry of Culture of Colombia in collaboration with the Secretary of Culture of Barranquilla, the Cartago Foundation, the Hay Festival, the Cartagena International Music Festival, and with the support of the Organization Ardila Lülle (OAL) and the University Jorge Tadeo Lozano, Caribbean campus.

The purpose of this award is to use the themes of music, literature and popular culture to strengthen the basic forms of cultural journalism, specifically the interview, extended reportage and critical commentary. It will also give an opportunity to think about the role of cultural journalism in an era in which creator and audience have an increasingly direct contact, facilitated by digital tools.

The Gabriel García Márquez fellowship in Cultural Journalism will be divided into three modules: Music, Popular Culture and Literature. All modules will be coordinated by FNPI teacher Héctor Feliciano and the American journalist Jonathan Levi. In addition, each module will include guest experts, both national and international.

Eligibility

1. We will select 20 journalists, fluent in English, with a minimum of three years experience, who work or publish in print or digital media.
2. To verify English proficiency, there will be an interview via telephone or skype with the finalists.
3. 6 places will be reserved for Colombians, some of whom may be selected from among the journalists who have previously participated in the training program in cultural journalism of the Ministry of Culture.
