Each year, The Faculty for the Future Fellowships, launched by the Schlumberger Foundation, are awarded to women from developing and emerging economies who are preparing for PhD or post-doctoral study in the physical sciences and related disciplines at top universities for their disciplines abroad.
Grant recipients are selected for their leadership capabilities as for their scientific talents, and are expected to return to their home countries to continue their academic careers and inspire other young women.

Benefit :
Faculty for the Future grants are awarded based on the actual costs of studying and living in the chosen location, and is worth USD 50,000 for PhDs and USD 40,000 for Post-doctoral study.
Grants may be renewed through to completion of studies subject to performance, self-evaluation and recommendations from supervisors.

• Wish to pursue a PhD degree or Post-doctoral research in the physical sciences or related disciplines;
• Have applied to, have been admitted to, or are currently enrolled in a university abroad;

Microsoft Research Graduate Women’s Scholarship Award, USA

Description
The Microsoft Research Graduate Women’s Scholarship is a one-year scholarship program for outstanding women graduate students and is designed to help increase the number of women pursuing a PhD. This program supports women in the second year of their graduate studies. Women who are interested in this scholarship must apply during first year of graduate studies. Scholarships are granted by Microsoft Research at the discretion of Microsoft.

Eligibility

• Nominees for the Microsoft Research Graduate Women's Scholarship Program must be nominated by their universities, and their nominations must be confirmed by the office of the chair of the department. Direct applications from students are not accepted.
• Student must attend a U.S. or Canadian university and be enrolled as a full-time graduate student in the Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics departments (if your department is within the scope of these areas, but is titled differently, you are eligible).
• Students must be enrolled in their first year in a graduate program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics for academic year 2012–2013. If a student has already completed graduate-level coursework in any subject area, prior to their first year in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Mathematics, then the student is not eligible for the Scholarship program.
• A maximum of three applicants per department, per university will be accepted. A total of nine applicants total per university will be allowed.
• Payment of the scholarship awards, as described above, is made directly to the university. The recipient must remain enrolled in a graduate program during the 2013–2014 academic year or forfeit the award.

(Foundation Scholarships) Women In Aviation Scholarship, USA

Description
Women in Aviation, International (WAI) is currently offering a wide variety of foundation scholarships to students. This variety includes Aerospace Engineering Scholarships such as the American Airlines/American Eagle Scholarship that will award one $5,000 scholarship. Each applicant must be a WAI member and may apply for no more than two scholarships. Internships are not included in the two per member scholarship limit. These requirements are in addition to all stated specifications in individual listings.

Eligibility
This scholarship is targeted for students with the following criteria; student pursuing a degree in Aeronautical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, and the Delta Air Lines Engineering Scholarship (pretty similar to the American Airlines/American Eagle). Also, Dispatcher Scholarships like the Flamingo Air / Airline Ground Schools Scholarship will award one dispatcher training award leading to an FAA Aircraft Dispatcher certificate, and other scholarships are available under the categories of Flight Scholarships, General Scholarships, Aviation Management Scholarships, etc.

In 2012, the Foundation will offer five Education Support Awards of up to $2000 each to assist low-income women with children who are pursuing education or training. Education Support Awards may be used for direct school expenses or for living expenses while you are enrolled in an educational program. Awardees are notified by phone or email. OWSD Postgraduate Fellowships Specially offered for women from Sub-Saharan Africa and Least Developed Countries

Description
This fellowship programme is for female students from Sub-Saharan Africa or Least Developed Countries (LDCs) who wish to pursue postgraduate training leading to a doctorate degree at a centre of excellence in the South outside their own country.

• Please read the following information carefully before applying.
• Only women scientists from Sub-Saharan Africa and/or one of the Least Developed Countries can apply.
• Host institutions must be located in a developing country.
• Applications that are incomplete or illegible cannot be considered. Please make sure all the requested enclosures are submitted together with your application.

Eligibility

1. The fellowships are open to qualified young women science graduates (generally below 40 years of age) from countries in Sub-Saharan Africa and/or LDCs.
2. The minimum qualification of applicants is an M.Sc. degree (or equivalent), or an outstanding B.Sc. honours degree, in the natural sciences.
3. Important: Following recent discussions with donors, earlier restrictions that limited eligible research projects to those in the basic sciences have been dropped. Therefore, applications can now be accepted from female scientists in all branches of the natural sciences.
4. Applicants already on site in the host country will not be considered eligible.
5. The host institute where the applicant wishes to pursue her doctorate degree must be in a developing country other than her own.
6. The applicant must be willing to return to her own country after completion of the fellowship.

Sloan MSc Women Scholarship At London Business School, UK

Description
This prestigious scholarship is offered in partnership with Saatchi & Saatchi and Spencer Stuart. Two scholarships are available offering up to 50% of the programme tuition fees together with a career mentoring session with Spencer Stuart.

Eligibility
This scholarship is specially offered to all self-funding female candidates for the Sloan MSc.

There will be a total of up to 15 scholarships offered to students officially enrolled in a four-year full-time undergraduate degree program.

The BMO Financial Group’s philanthropic investments include a variety of educational initiatives. They are committed to providing programs needed to benefit the broader community. The BMO Financial Group Diversity Scholarships at Ryerson University will provide enhanced access to post-secondary education for traditionally underrepresented groups including women, visible minorities, international students, students with disabilities and aboriginal students.

Eligibility

1. Must be from traditionally underrepresented groups including women, visible minorities, international students, students with disabilities and aboriginal students.
2. Officially enrolled in a four-year full-time undergraduate degree program.
3. Students entering 1st year with a minimum average of 80% in 6 U/M credits or equivalent will be considered for a $1,000 or $2,500 scholarship; students must have been full-time secondary school students during the previous academic year (2010-11). Deadline: October 1, 2011. Scholarships will be issued at the end of November.
4. Students currently enrolled in 1st, 2nd or 3rd year with a minimum 2.00 cumulative grade point average will be considered for a $1,000 or $2,500 scholarship. Deadline: March 1, 2012. All scholarships awarded will be deposited directly to students’ tuition fees, for the following academic year.
5. Demonstrated financial need reflected in the Budget Form submitted.

PARENT-BRIDGE Programme, Special Fund for Pregnan Women Researchers

Description
The objective of the programme is to enable the best researchers who are raising young children to return to advanced research work and to enable pregnant women to conduct research projects financed from external sources.

Financing includes:

• a research grant (for such items as the salary of the project director, research costs, apparatus, research materials, and international exchange costs);
• stipends for up to three researchers supervised by the project director (students or PhD students) selected by competition. Their stipends are PLN 1,000 or PLN 3,000 respectively.

Eligibility
This program is addressed to women who hold at least a master’s degree, are taking part in research projects financed from external sources of the employing institution (e.g. thesis adviser grants, projects of other researchers, their own research projects, and the like), and are working under health-sensitive conditions (e.g. contact with radiation or chemicals, operating dangerous equipment, frequent travel, and the like).

Application Procedure
Applications for both competitions (the return grant or support for pregnant women) are to be filed using the online application form.

After the online form is completed, it should be printed out and signed (signatures of the candidate and the director of the unit are required). International Fellowship Program Funded By Japanese Association of University Women, Japan

Description
The Japanese Association of University Women takes pleasure in announcing its 2012. International Fellowships Programme for women who are carrying out or would like to carry out independent research or advanced study at the post-graduate level in Japan. The period of the award will be for 3-6 months within the period 15 September 2012 to 31 March 2013. Please read the Guidelines below before applying on the application form provided.

AMOUNT OF FELLOWSHIP

500,000–1,000,000 Yen  per grantee. The amount granted will vary depending on duration of  stay in Japan and the nature of the work. One-third of the amount will be given to the grantee upon arrival in Japan.

“Women Scientists Scheme (WOS-C)” on IPR, a scheme of Department of Science & Technology, Government of India for the women scientists is being implemented by Patent Facilitating Centre (PFC) of Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council (TIFAC).
