Business Leader Scholarship For Postgraduate Students at Sydney Business School - Sydney University, Australia

Description
Currently, there are twenty scholarships for local and international students undertaking one of the eligible single masters postgraduate coursework programs offered in semester 1, 2013 at The University of Sydney Business School.

Benefits: The scholarship covers 50% tuition fees and is tenable for 1.5 to 2 years full-time or 3 to 4 years part-time Masters degree.  To retain a scholarship, the holder must maintain a continuous enrolment during their degree from the semester for which they sought entry.  A continuous enrolment requires four units of study per semester for full-time candidates or two units of study per semester for part-time candidates.

Eligibility

• The scholarship is available to new students who will commence their first semester of study with the Business School in one of the eligible Masters programs involving 10 to 16 units of study. (A list of eligible Masters programs is available during application). The scholarship is open to full-time international and full-time or part-time domestic students.
• Only those applicants who have accepted a firm offer of admission to one of the eligible Masters programs in the Business School for the subsequent semester are eligible to be considered for this award. Current students who have completed study toward their degree and students receiving an offer of admission for a combined Masters program are not eligible to apply.

Nursing Scholarship - Puggy Hunter Memorial Scholarship At Australian College of Nursing, Australia

Description
This scholarship award is specially funded by Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing. The Scheme was established in recognition of Dr Arnold ("Puggy") Hunter's significant contribution to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health and his role as the inaugural Chair of the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (NACCHO).

The purpose of the award is to help address the under-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in health professions and assist in increasing the number of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with professional health qualifications.

Undergraduate Summer Scholarships - Excellence Summer Scholarships in Climate System Science at the University of New South Wales, Australia

The ARC Centre of Excellence Summer Scholarships in Climate System Science are highly competitive scholarship awards intended to provide undergraduate students from Australian universities an introduction to cutting-edge climate system research at the UNSW Climate Change Research Centre (CCRC).

Up to five scholarships are available for domestic students to conduct supervised research at the CCRC for an eight-week period during the summer break from November to February, with a break around the holidays. The scholarships are valued at $4,000 for the eight-week research project. To be eligible, applicants must be Australian/New Zealand citizens or Australian permanent residents.

Douglas Cohen Prize for Paediatric Surgery At Sydney University, Australia

Description
Established in 1985 by the offer of an annual donation from the Board of Management of the Royal Alexandra Hospital for Children. The Prize is now sponsored by The Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network.

Eligibility
a candidate for the degrees of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in the final year of the program who has completed the final year clinical rotation. The Prize is based on the best essay by any student on any aspect of paediatric surgery felt appropriate by the student (1500 to 2000 words). The essay may be based on work from a previous year and students can apply for the Prize while completing the rotation or at the completion of it.

Doctoral Scholarship in Geochemistry At Wollongong Isotope Geochronology Lab, Australia

Description
The ability to predict how our water and soil resources will be able to cope with future climate change,we need to study sedimentary records to decipher how the landscape has responded to past climate variability. This project will use isotope geochemistry to re–construct variations in chemical weathering (which shapes the global carbon cycle), soil erosion and sediment transport in rivers. Isotopic systems used will be lithium, boron or uranium-series isotopes, which all provide different constraints on Earth surface processes.You will integrate the Wollongong Isotope Geochronology Lab led by Dr Anthony Dosseto and currently already composed of several international PhD students. You will have access to a brand new clean laboratory facility with all the equipments required for your project.

JB Fairfax Scholarship Award for Rural Journalism, Australia

Description
This scholarship program Award for Rural Journalism purposed to encourage university students to pursue a career in rural journalism upon graduation. The Award was established through a private donation from Mr John B Fairfax AO.

INTERNATIONAL AWARD OF EBERHARD WENZEL SCHOLARSHIP IN PUBLIC HEALTH AT GRIFFITH UNIVERSITY, AUSTRALIA

Description
The late Dr Eberhard Wenzel was an academic in the School of Public Health and worked in public health with a range of international health agencies for over 20 years. Dr Wenzel had a tremendous knowledge and understanding of public health issues facing humanity and his establishment of the Virtual Library for Public Health and the International Public Health Watch websites provided important means for him to engage with others who shared his passion for the field.

The purpose of this grant scholarship is to enable students to undertake research which will advance understanding of a public health topic relevant to the academic interests of the late Dr Eberhard Wenzel.

1. The Scholarship is open to all applicants of: Griffith Health Group Honours Program enrolled with the School of Public Health, Master of Public Health (research option), Master of Nutrition and Dietetics (research option) and Master of Health Services Management (honours).

PhD Scholarship Research In Mental Health, Australia

Description
Australian Rotary Health currently funds 10 Mental Health PhD Research Scholarships and 40 PhD Scholarships in other areas of health research.  PhD scholars funded by Australian Rotary Health are provided with media and presentation training. Using these skills, Scholars regularly present their work to Rotary Clubs. This has fostered many valued links between Scholars and Rotary Clubs.

In light of the success of the PhD Scholarship program, the Australian Rotary Health Board has decided that greater emphasis will be given to funding PhD Scholarships. To achieve this for 2013, Australian Rotary Health will fund 10 new Mental Health PhD Scholarships, replacing the previous research project grant funding program.

Funding of Indigenous Health Scholarships, Rural Medical and Nursing Scholarships and our mental health advocacy programs will continue.

The ECU International Alumni Postgraduate Scholarship has been established to provide a unique opportunity to all International ECU graduates, who have successfully completed their undergraduate degree, within the last two years and who then go on to study a postgraduate coursework program at ECU.

Grant Scholarship - International House Scholarships At Sydney University, Australia

Description
International House has scholarships and bursaries which are available to assist those residents who may be in considerable financial need. Applicants need to discuss how they plan to be involved in the affairs and activities of the House and that they understand and appreciate the aims and objectives of International Houses in general and of the University of Sydney International House in particular.

All scholarships are awarded in the form of a rent reduction unless via prior arrangement with the Director. Fee reduction for board or lodging should not have any effect on Australian Government benefits and payments, such as Youth Allowance.

The Melbourne International Research Scholarships (MIRS) is awarded to international students wishing to undertake graduate research degree studies at the University of Melbourne. MIRSs are funded by the University with each faculty having a limited number to award.

Scholarship Amount:

• a living allowance of $23,728 per annum (2012 rate)
• a Relocation Grant of $2,000 awarded to students who are moving from interstate in order to study at the University of Melbourne or $3,000 awarded to those who are moving from overseas
