Business Leader Scholarship For Postgraduate Students at Sydney Business School - Sydney University, Australia

Description
Currently, there are twenty scholarships for local and international students undertaking one of the eligible single masters postgraduate coursework programs offered in semester 1, 2013 at The University of Sydney Business School.

Benefits: The scholarship covers 50% tuition fees and is tenable for 1.5 to 2 years full-time or 3 to 4 years part-time Masters degree.  To retain a scholarship, the holder must maintain a continuous enrolment during their degree from the semester for which they sought entry.  A continuous enrolment requires four units of study per semester for full-time candidates or two units of study per semester for part-time candidates.

Eligibility
  • The scholarship is available to new students who will commence their first semester of study with the Business School in one of the eligible Masters programs involving 10 to 16 units of study. (A list of eligible Masters programs is available during application). The scholarship is open to full-time international and full-time or part-time domestic students.
  • Only those applicants who have accepted a firm offer of admission to one of the eligible Masters programs in the Business School for the subsequent semester are eligible to be considered for this award. Current students who have completed study toward their degree and students receiving an offer of admission for a combined Masters program are not eligible to apply.

Research Award For Postdoctoral Level in Urban Mobility Analysis at University of Oulu, Finland

Description
This program is specially purposed to analyze the rich mobility traces captured by Oulu’s city-wide WiFi, Bluetooth and traffic infrastructure to understand better city-scale movement and develop ubiquitous computing applications.The University of Oulu is an international research and innovation university engaged in multidisciplinary basic research and academic education. The University of Oulu is one of the largest universities in Finland with 16000 students and 3000 staff. The University encompasses eight fields of study: Humanities, Education, Economics and Business, Science, Medicine, Dentistry, Health Sciences, and Technology. The fields of information technology, biotechnology, northern and environmental issues have been defined as special research focus areas.

Benefits: The selected candidate will work within the Urban Interactions research program. Salary will be given in an amout of 3200-3600 euros per month (before tax) depending on the qualifications.

Eligibility
This position mainly requires a strong mathematical background, experience with hands-on development and programming, and familiarity with urban mobility analysis, machine learning, and ubiquitous computing. Understanding of statistics, database programming, and symbolic computation are a benefit. Knowledge of Matlab/R is a plus. You will be expected to develop an analysis system that captures, infers and models individual and group mobility patterns on a city scale.: Must hold a Doctoral degree in a relevant field.

International Undergraduate Scholarship At European Business School London, UK

Description
European Business School London offer 3 annual scholarship prizes for our BA (Hons) International Business and BA (Hons) International Events Management degree courses. One full scholarship and two half scholarships are awarded through a competition.

Scholarship Benefits
This scholarship is full scholarship which cover all the tuition fees for the full 3.5 years of the programme, worth approximately £50,000.Half scholarships covering half of the tuition fees for the 3.5 year programme, worth approximately £25,000 each.

2012 AFIO Scholarships, USA

Description
The Association of Former Intelligence Officers is offering a variety of scholarships for fall 2012 to both undergraduate and graduate students. These scholarships range in amount: $4,000 (7 of these are offered), $2,000 (8), etc.

Evaluation criteria include merit, character, serious of academic commitment, and relevance of your studies to national security interests and career ambitions.

Eligibility
Undergraduates applicants must be entering their sophomore or junior year by the summer of 2012, and graduate applicants must be submit their applications no earlier than their senior undergraduate year and no later than their second year of graduate studies.

All applicants must be U.S. citizens. No Scholarship will be awarded to students attending foreign universities or schools not US-accredited, nor to law, med, or business schools [foreign or domestic]; however, students intending to study in schools of engineering, science, technology and/or show extensive foreign language mastery in Arabic, Dari, Farsi, German, Hausa and other sub-Saharan African languages, Hebrew, Indonesian, Korean, Kurdish, Mandarin, Pashto, Punjabi, Russian, Somali, Swahili, Turkish, and Urdu are strongly encouraged to apply.

Full Time MBA Scholarship At Business School of Queensland University, Australia

Description
The scholarship will entitle the successful applicants to receive a 25% discount on their course tuition fees for the minimum number of units required to complete the full-time (12 month) MBA program unless otherwise stated. International students may also be eligible for an additional reimbursement of up to AUD$3,000 to cover travel expenses.

Eligibility
  • commence study in January including the MBA orientation event; and
  • fulfill all requirements associated with their student visas; and
  • diligently and to the best of their ability apply themselves to the successful completion of the full-time (12 month) MBA program; and
  • conform to The University of Queensland rules, regulations, policies, and procedures (including disciplinary provisions); and
  • not defer or otherwise interrupt studies; and

FMI Ontario Chapter Scholarship At Financial Management Instittute, Canada

Description
The Financial Management Institute (fmi*igf) of Canada’s Ontario Chapter is pleased to announce their annual scholarship initiative aimed at strengthening ties between public sector financial management and academic programs across the province. Each year, up to five scholarships valued at $2,500 each will be awarded to students currently enrolled in an accounting, finance, or business program at a recognized Ontario college or university who show an interest in working in financial management within the public sector upon graduation. 

Eligibility
Applicants must currently be enrolled in an accounting, finance, or business program at a recognized Ontario college or university.

Applicants should show an interest in working in financial management within the public sector upon graduation.  Holding a co-op position or internship in such a position would be a plus.

Application Procedure
Up to two references may be submitted as part of an application.  One may be from an academic referee, and one may be from a professional referee (ie. FMI member, CA/CGA/CMA, public servant, etc).

Applicants must submit a 500 word essay on a topic chosen by the FMI Ontario Scholarship Committee each year. The topic will be selected by December 31st each year, and will be communicated along with the application information.
Essay Topic: 
Explain the difference between financial and non financial analysis and why both are important for decision making by senior officials in the public sector.

Postdoctoral Position in business administration At Lund University, Sweden

Description
The holder of the position should be competent and experienced in at least one of the fields of business studies. Scholarly proficiency is the main requirement for employment. The position involves a limited amount of teaching (the equivalent of one course a year and some supervision of Bachelor and Master's Theses).

Eligibility
  • The candidat should have a PhD awarded no more than three years ago (unless the applicant has been on parental leave of leave due to illness).
  • For appointment, the candidate must have demonstrated a high degree of research expertise and also shown teaching skills.


Additional criteria

R G Menzies Scholarships to Harvard For Postgraduate Students From Australia

Description
The Selection Committee awarded three Menzies Scholarships valued at US$60,000 each. The third scholarship was able to be offered this year as a result of pledges from Harvard Business School (HBS) alumni to the Harvard Club of Australia and was available to HBS students only. Depending on funding from Harvard, a Menzies Scholarship may be taken over one or more years at the discretion of the Selection Committee and the Committee on General Scholarships at Harvard University.

Eligibility
  1. be an Australian citizen, or have permanent resident status, and normally reside in Australia
  2. intend to return to Australia after completing your studies or to directly represent Australia overseas
  3. have not commenced or previously undertaken a postgraduate degree course at a United States university; and
  4. you must not have accepted another major scholarship (such as a Knox, Fulbright or Monash Award).

Application Procedure
Please must submit a completed Application Form (DOC, 1.8MB) with your original academic transcript/s and a Statement of Purpose of no more than two A4 pages. The Statement should include relevant details of your background (including community and recreational interests and, if relevant, career-to-date), personal philosophy, aspirations and future career plans, and how you believe you can contribute to the future interests of Australia. The Selection Committee will not be able to consider statements over two pages or any additional documents, other than those requested.

AJA Scholarship for Jewish Students Funded By The Stuart Young Foundation, UK

Description
The Stuart Young Awards commemorate the life and achievements of an outstanding member of the Anglo-Jewish community, who made significant contributions in the fields of accountancy, communications and business, and also in voluntary social services.

Dispersing substantial funds annually, the AJA is one of the largest grant making organizations directly supporting Jewish students in the UK. Applications for the academic year 2011-12 are now closed. The 2012-13 academic year grant application forms are now available. Advice and assistance with the completion of the forms is available by contacting us.

For Jewish students only.
